Male Cabin Staff members take care of the daily needs of 8-10 campers and work to build community within the cabin group.

The job requires being actively involved in the supervision, guidance, and motivation of campers by building working relationships with kids, staff, and volunteers to ensure that a high standard of care is maintained.

Cabin staff live in the cabins with the campers, one or two other cabin staff, and 1-3 weekly volunteers.

With activity staff, cabin staff train and integrate new volunteers into the team each session.

Cabin staff serve on committees to facilitate all-camp activities and will serve on committees and perform other duties to support their Pride or cabin of campers, volunteers, and staff.

These staff work 8-15 hours a day.

Activity Staff members prepare, supervise, and facilitate activities.

Activity staff members support a variety of activity areas, but each staff member has a specialization in one activity: arts and crafts, woodshop, theater, photography, music, sports and recreation, nature, archery, aquatics (pool and boating and fishing), and equestrian. Activity staff plan and facilitate activities for campers depending on the ages and needs of individuals in each group.

When the Activity staff member is not facilitating an activity area, they are supporting their assigned cabin of campers and working with the cabin staff and weekly volunteers of the cabin.

Activity staff sleep in our staff lodge buildings, sharing living space with three to seven other activity staff members.

Activity staff will serve on committees to facilitate all-camp activities and will serve on committees and perform other duties to support their Pride or cabin of campers, volunteers, and staff.

Leadership/Support Staff members ensure the success of each cabin and activity area.

They support all-camp activities and behind-the-scenes efforts while supporting staff, volunteers, and campers in the process.

They sleep in our staff lodge buildings, sharing living space with three to six other leadership/support staff.

Leadership/Support positions include Pride Leader, Assistant Activities Coordinator, Entertainment Coordinator, Oldest Camper Program Coordinator, Assistant Residential Life Coordinator, Camper Support Coordinator, and Behavioral Health Coordinator.

These staff work 8-15 hours a day.

Horse Barn / Equestrian Staff care for our horses and care for our campers as they ride horses.

Responsibilities of an equestrian staff include, but are not limited to, maintaining the barn, cleaning stalls, maintaining tack and materials, washing horses, grooming horses, feeding the horses during sessions, and performing safety checks throughout the season.

Equestrian staff receive site-based training and sequential in-service trainings.

Applicants with horse and barn experience are preferred for this role.

These positions are considered part of the Activity Staff team, yet they can be either residential or non-residential. This means that someone who lives locally could choose to live on site and work longer days or to live off site and work shorter days (with a different salary).

Lifeguards / Aquatics Staff keep everyone safe at our swimming pool and lake’s boating and fishing area.

Lifeguards’ primary responsibility is ensuring the safety and well-being of our campers and staff in an aquatic environment: both the pool and the boating and fishing area.

Fun fact: we do not swim in our lake; we only swim in our pool. At our lake, we fish from a dock and use paddleboats.

Lifeguards receive site-based training, sequential in-service trainings.

Camp Boggy Creek can help interested folks to obtain American Red Cross lifeguard certification.  Applicants that do not currently hold Lifeguard certifications are still encouraged to apply.

FILLED: The Camp Operations Assistant will work out of our Camp Operations office building to support the needs of campers, volunteers, staff, and guests.  This individual will input data, manage phone lines and voicemails, organize paperwork, make copies, and answer questions.  In addition, the Camp Operations Assistant will work out and about on camp, sorting and preparing items for delivery and then delivering items where they need to go.  This position works eight-hour shifts, so on-site housing is not provided.  For more information, please contact staff@campboggycreek.org.

FILLED Behavior Health Coordinator

· Preferred Qualifications:

o Current sophomore, junior, and/or senior level pursuing a degree in psychology, counseling, or a closely related discipline.

o Experience working with children.

o Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

o Empathetic, patient, and willing to learn how to navigate youth behavior.

· Job Purpose: As a behavioral health coordinator at Camp Boggy Creek, you support and care for campers' behavioral and mental health needs with the following responsibilities:

o Observe and document all camper behavior, changes in physical signs or symptoms, changes in emotional behavior, and or eating habits.

o Observe and report camper reactions to other campers and staff.

o Encourage campers to meet their physical needs, such as showering, toileting, and eating.

o Reports to and assists the Director of Behavioral Health and Wellness in individual and group activities.

o Assist 1:1 staff in navigating camper behavior and mental health.

o Assist in the management of impulsive or uncooperative behaviors.

o All other duties as assigned.

Senior Behavior Health Coordinator

· Required Qualifications:

o Advanced graduate student in counseling, psychology, early education, or closely related field

o 1+ years of work or volunteer experience with children and adolescents in a mental health and or behavioral setting OR 1+ years of work or volunteer experience with adults in a mental health and or behavioral setting.

o Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

o Empathetic, patient, and willing to learn to navigate youth and adult behavior.

· Preferred:

o Completed undergraduate degree in psychology.

o Pre-licensed or certified therapist

o Registered intern in mental health counseling, marriage and family therapy, pre-licensed or licensed individual in psychology, counseling, social work, or related discipline.

· Job Purpose: As a senior behavioral health coordinator at Camp Boggy Creek, you support and care for campers' behavioral and mental health needs by:

o Provide consultation regarding lethality assessments and cases of suspected abuse.

o Observe and document all camper behavior, changes in physical signs or symptoms, changes in emotional behavior, and or eating habits.

o Observe and report camper and staff reactions to other campers and staff.

o Encourage campers and staff to meet their physical needs, such as showering, toileting, and eating.

o Reports to and assists the Director of Behavioral Health and Wellness in individual and group activities.

o Assisting 1:1 staff in navigating camper behavior and mental health

o Assist in the management of impulsive or uncooperative behaviors.

o Assist in crisis management/protocol situations related to mental health and behavior.
